My recent Perfumed Alphabet poetry series really concluded with Y for ylang-ylang, because even though I thought I’d end with Z for zinziba, I learned that it’s not really used in perfume, but in aromatherapy. No wonder I didn’t have a clue what to do with my zinziba essential oil once I’d gotten some out of curiosity. It smells a bit like minty lemon tea syrup (or if you added sugar to some Lipton tea and concentrated it).
It’s been most enjoyable sharing examples and learning about some of your favorite perfumes for each ingredient, so thank you to those who dropped by and commented! In retrospect, this is a great opportunity to compile a list of the perfumes from all of your suggestions that I’m now very interested to try if I haven’t already. Maybe others will find this a helpful curation as well.

You know so many I don’t know! I think I have had at least samples of only about 7 of these

I don’t know most of these either! These are all from people like you who commented with examples. I didn’t think when I started this little series that a list of perfumista recommendations would come out of it, but I’m so glad it did!

Hahaha. Hopefully you can at least get samples but you will still have a few hundred dollars worth of samples here, lol!

I bet! And some I’ve been warned are discontinued or hard to find.

Or even sadder they get reformulated. I know many amouage have been reformulated, which are what I have. I still like them but wonder how great they would have smelled in their glory days.
