A Drop of Rose

I start with a list of my favorite scents

Sandalwood, tonka, guaiac, et cet’ra

Proportions written with the best intent

Enter the vial to mix awhile

Cedarwood, tobacco, leathery notes

To my confidence, so far it’s balanced

Old friend, Iso E Super: add a dose

Now, I’m pretty sure, it’s ready for more

A drop of rose in absolute glory

Makes its grand entrance, but will it enhance

The blend? Or is this a different story?

Time will tell the nose what no one yet knows
