Citral smells like a lemon drop, or Pledge^® Furniture Spray Lemon to those accustomed to the product (so I’ve heard—I haven’t used furniture spray). It’s that immediately recognizable, zesty but smooth, juicy lemon scent that plays well with most other ingredients. Citral also has a woody undertone, making it a suitable heart note in many blends. It is quite strong and a contact allergen, such that the maximum recommended concentration in a perfume is 0.6%.
