Taiwanese beauty snake (Orthriophis taeniura friesei) at the Scutes Family Gallery at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The caption reads: Taiwanese beauty snakes are found in tropical forests and caves throughout east and southeast Asia. This species can reach lengths of up to eight feet long, making them the largest snake in Taiwan. Because they are very agile and semi-arboreal (much of their time is spent in trees), this non-venomous snake is an excellent predator. It will stalk and then constrict its prey with several coils. Its diet is primarily rodents, birds and eggs.
When I visited in 2023, the Taiwanese beauty snake was chilling in its wooden box.
Wishing everyone a happy Lunar New Year. One of the traits of the snake as a zodiac animal is wisdom, so may we all be wiser.
My scent of the day was Formosa eau de parfum, a warm fruity-floral exuding pink and lushness that quickly envelops with cozy, woody musks.
Beautiful way to celebrate. I could do with a lot of wisdom. 😊
