Perfumed Alphabet: F is for Florhydral®

Morning dew gathers

On green leaves and white petals

As beads in my glove

Florhydral®, also known as floral butanal, has intensity and volume. It is used to impart freshness and add to transparent, watery, or citrus notes. It is a green, sheer floral that evokes lily-of-the-valley. To my nose, however, it also shouts of rubber—again, balloons, latex gloves, etc. (more strongly than benzyl acetate). The maximum recommended concentration in a perfume is 2%.
