Perfumed Alphabet: S is for Stemone®

This is the freshest

Produce ever to come out

Of a spray nozzle

Leafy, succulent, juicy green—Stemone® smells like water from the crushed skin of an almost-ripe fruit. (Or, as its name suggests, like a cut stem!) It is one of the components of a fig accord, the crisp green counterpart to the milky flesh of this inflorescence. Very uplifting, I enjoy smelling it on its own while figuring out what to do with it. This heart note can be used at up to 5% concentration in a perfume.
