I hadn’t really thought about perfumes for different seasons for myself, although I do read the lists that people recommend for various occasions and temperature brackets. However, seeing other perfumistas’ recent posts about spring fragrances made me want to give it a try.
Gladly, I was able to rely only on my full bottles this week, and I went for a “green” theme, even though I find romantic pink (or non-pink) florals just as suitable for spring.
Monday, Mar. 21: Masque Milano Ray-Flection—This sunny, violet-mimosa darling has been enjoying a lot of attention from me lately. I got one compliment and zero complaints about it at the office when I debuted it, so it might become a regular there.
Tuesday, Mar. 22: Annick Goutal Ninfeo Mio—I bought the last new tester bottle at the original NYC boutique in 2019 just before the rebrand and redesign, so it has a special place. Lemon, fig, and lavender are prominent but the fragrance is full and complex; refreshing and grounding at the same time.
Wednesday, Mar. 23: Rouge Bunny Rouge Incantation—This discontinued gem is in my mind a white tea and salty fig fragrance, although, similarly to Ray-Flection, tea is not listed; rather, they share common notes of cardamom, beeswax, cedar, and musk.
Thursday, Mar. 24: Jacomo Silences—A dark, bitter galbanum green, made velvety by a slightly powdery, vintage floral heart.
Friday, Mar. 25: Grès Cabotine—Innocent and bright, with animalic undertones, this perfume has a kitchen sink of notes but mostly I perceive a white floral with a touch of fresh green.
Saturday, Mar. 26: Chanel No 19 Eau de Parfum—This queen of green is high on many perfumistas’ lists as a springtime perfume. To me, it’s a lighter shade of green than Silences and feels more like a power suit than a carefree spirit. The rose and iris in the heart warm up quite beautifully throughout the day.
Sunday, Mar. 27: Diptyque L’Ombre dans L’Eau Eau de Parfum—Supercharged with blackcurrant bud and backed by petitgrain, this is really a rose perfume, but only if you can get past all the leaves on the stems. It was also my #smellfie model for International Fragrance Day last year.
Many of these will work great well into the summer, too.

Well it looks like our cat Pickles commented on this post ahead of me! I wore no 19 edt decades ago . I recently discovered the edp and plan on wearing it a lot this spring. Cabotine intrigues me because it has a fan base and sells for a song online. And you can’t go wrong with Green Tea. It’s a great palate cleanser and can be used as a hand sanitizer in a pinch

Pickles has impeccable taste, as is apparent from her guest posts on Undina’s Looking Glass (always a treat)!

I went through a decant of Silences, thinking that I would buy it once I’m done… and never did that. Now I wonder if it’s still available from those discounters where I saw it.

I got mine from eBay, and it looks like it’s still available there. 😊
